Governance

The Genos Protocol operates within a governance framework designed to balance decentralization with responsible economic decision-making. GEN holders who have acquired governance rights can submit proposals and vote on key protocol parameters and strategic initiatives. Each proposal must clearly outline its expected impact on the protocol’s performance and long-term value creation.

Voting power is calculated by a formula that produces a dynamic governance score, which updates continuously. Stakers and bonders are treated as economically aligned contributors, with voting power proportional to their total committed capital.

VPi=(si+bi)(S+B)Where:si=multiplier-adjusted staked amount of participant ibi=tokens acquired by participant iS=sum of all multiplier-adjusted staked tokens across all participantsB=total tokens acquired via bondingVP_i = \frac{(s_i + b_i)}{(S + B)} \\[2em] \begin{align*} \text{Where:} & \\ s_i &= \text{multiplier-adjusted staked amount of participant } i \\ b_i &= \text{tokens acquired by participant } i \\ S &= \text{sum of all multiplier-adjusted staked tokens across all participants} \\ B &= \text{total tokens acquired via bonding} \end{align*}

During the genesis stage, governance power is determined by bonding and staking activity, ensuring that participants with the strongest economic alignment exert meaningful influence. In the post-genesis phase, governance rights are derived exclusively from staking, with applicable multipliers. Participants who acquired governance rights through bonding retain influence in the post‑genesis phase only if they stake their GEN.
